The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of a computer aided program to teach the program of two dimensions basic design so as to make use of the advantages of the capabilities available to programs of computer design to reorganize and coordinate the course of the foundations of the two-dimensional basic design to strengthen and enhance the understanding and comprehension of the principles and of making different designs based on cognitive information and preformed visual works. The researcher used the descriptive approach to organize a coherent theoretical framework about prehistoric arts and the properties and features of the arts of the ancient civilizations of the Nile Valley. Also, to provide information about the concepts of the visual culture together with the classifications of the visual arts and its related principles and concepts. The practical side of the research encompasses the design of computer aided program consists of two hundred and five Frames including ten images from nature and one hundred and twenty-two illustrations and six theoretical exercises beside eleven Practical ones Exercise. The (ppt) is used because of its ability to provide a set of tools for the production of electronic files containing virtual slides containing written text, photographs illustrations etc. which may be displayed to the students through the multimedia device during teaching. To evaluate the effectiveness of the program, the researcher used an evaluation form as a tool to collect data from a sample of arbitration presented to them after viewing the designed programmed used as an instructional aide to verbal teaching. Major findings of the research are: The usage of the computer in teaching fosters the creativity and imaginative skills and develop innovative capabilities of the students and enhances the practical aspects in terms of accuracy, speed and quality and consolidate information next in addition to its ability to raise the students' attention and motivates them to follow the lesson carefully. Based on the findings of the study the researcher recommended the importance of integrating modern computer design programs in art education curricula and further training of faculty members and students as well in order to develop their skills of dealing with the computer.
