This study aimed at identifying the extent to which values are included in the children’s literature contained in Arabic language textbooks for the first four grades in Jordan. Due to the nature of the study, the descriptive analytical method was used. The sentence was adopted as the unit of analysis. To achieve the objectives of the study, the study tool was constructed and its validity and reliability were verified. In order to analyze the texts, frequencies, percentages and rankings were used. The results of the study showed that the total number of values included in Arabic language textbooks for the first four grades in Jordan was (1352). The largest number of values was included in the third grade with a total of (435) values, followed by the fourth grade with a total of (378) values, followed by the first grade with a total of (137) values. The values in the social domain came in the first rank with a total of (115) values followed by values in the domain of health, beauty and entertainment in the second rank with a total of (274) values, and then the values in the domain of religious in the third rank with a total of (206) values followed by the values in the domain of cognitive knowledge in the fourth rank with a total of (198) values, followed by values in the personal in the fifth rank with a total of (82) values, and the values in the economic domain came in the sixth rank were with a total of (77) values. The most frequently repeated values were in the reading texts with a total of (795) times, and occupied the first rank, while the poems and songs came in the second rank with a total of (368) values followed by selections from our beautiful language, which included (136) values and came in the third rank, then the proverbs and sayings with a total of (25) values in the fourth rank. In the light of the results of the study, the researcher presented a set of recommendations. (Author’s abstract)
