أثر برنامج مقترح في تدريس الجغرافيا على تنمية مهارة قراءة الخريطة والذكاء المكاني لدى طلبة الصف الثامن الأساسي



The study aimed to identify the effect of a proposed Program in teaching geography on developing the skill of map reading and spatial intelligence among eighth graders. The study tools are: 1) The map reading skills test, which consisted of (30) items. 2) The spatial intelligence aspects test, which consisted of (30) items. The study sample consisted of (74) eighth graders from the Kingdom of Bahrain Prep. Boys School – Gaza, who were divided into two groups, an experimental group consisting of (37) students taught geography using the proposed program, and a control group consisting of (37) students taught geography using the conventional method. The study adopted the experimental approach and the descriptive approach. Study most important findings: 1) There were statistically significant differences at the level of(α=0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental group and those of the control group in the post-test in the skill of map reading in favor of the experimental group. 2) There were statistically significant differences at the level of(α=0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental group and those of the control group in the post-test in the aspects of spatial intelligence in favor of the experimental group. Study main recommendations: 1) Employing the proposed program as an assistant to the teacher in teaching geography to make learning geography more interesting. 2) Paying attention to teacher preparation and training teachers on the use of the proposed program in teaching geography, especially the skill of map reading.
