تقويم كتاب اللغة الإنجليزية للصف السادس الأساسي من وجهة نظر المعلمين والمشرفين التربويين في مدينة طرابلس ليبيا



The study aimed at evaluating the English language textbook for the basic sixth grade from the point of view of teachers and educational supervisors in Tripoli city, Libya. The population of study consisted of all teachers and supervisor of English language for the basic sixth grade totaling 275 individuals, out of them 55 were educational supervisors and 220 teachers. A sample of 40 educational supervisors and 203 teachers were selected through a stratified random manner. A self-administered questionnaire was developed by the researcher to evaluate the English language text-book, consisted of 48 items, distributed among the following dimensions: general appearance of the book, objectives, content, activities and teaching strategies, means and techniques of book evaluation. Both validity and reliability of the questionnaire were secured. The results of the study showed that the degree of evaluating by teachers and educational supervisors was moderate at all dimensions of the questionnaire of study and on the total degree of the instrument. There were statistically significant differences of estimates of teachers and educational supervisors, in favor of educational supervisors. There were statistically significant differences due to teachers and educational supervisors gender in favor of males. There were statistically significant differences due to teachers and educational supervisors’ academic qualification in favor of graduate studies and on the total degree of the dimensions. There were statistically significant differences due to teachers and educational supervisors years of experience on the total degree of the dimensions in favor of the group (more than 10 years) compared with the group (5-less than 10 years) and (less than 5 years) and in favor of the group (5-10 years) compared with the group less than 5 years.
