This study aimed to detect obstacles to the application of modem teaching strategies in the teaching of religious science courses at the secondary stage for courses system from the point of view of teachers, and its relationship to the variables of academic qualification, and the experience years. The original community of this study consisted of all the teachers of religious science at the courses system secondary schools, they were 153 teachers during second semester of the academic year1434-1435/AH. A random sample of 53 teachers was selected. The researcher applied a structured questionnaire as a tool to collect data of the study. The questionnaire consisted of 32 items, divided into four themes. They were confirmed validity and reliability. Results of the study were analyzed by using the program (SPSS); where (Man-Whitney U) test and (Z) test, were applied in the appropriate statistical processing of the study. The study found that the obstacles degree level for all study themes came to a great extent only. The obstacles on the learning environment came first, followed by the obstacles related to the teacher, then the obstacles related to the student, and finally the obstacles related to courses. It also accepted the hypothesis of the study, which indicate that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance 0.05 in the obstacles of the application of teaching strategies in the teaching of modern religious science courses depending on the variables: academic qualification, and the experience years. One of the most important recommendations of the study was to study deeply the obstacles in implementation of modern teaching strategies of religious science courses in the various stages of education, to improve the learning environment necessary to implement modern teaching strategies, training teachers of religious science to provide necessary skills and competencies needed to implement modern teaching strategies, and the inclusion of material for modern teaching strategies in the study plan for the student/ teacher at the faculties of education, and employ this course during practical education of students.
