The present study aims know the degree of usage of knowledge management in the face of obstacles to achieve competitive advantage in Kuwait higher education institutions from the viewpoint of faculty members. To achieve the goal of the study was to use descriptive method Correlative, the questionnaire was administered to a sample of 250 members. The study results showed that knowledge management came to a fair degree, all areas and came moderately except knowledge storage came high, and were arranged in descending order as follows: storage of knowledge, sharing knowl¬edge, application of knowledge, the organization of knowledge, knowledge generation. The study results showed that the obstacles to the achievement of the Kuwait higher education institutions a competitive advantage came high, and came in the areas of high and medium Class, and came in descending order as follows: regulatory constraints, human impediments, physical impediments. In light of the results of the study The study made several recommendations including: the adoption of the Kuwait institutions of higher education plans aimed at training workers on gating university data as they relate to their mission and will hold Kuwait higher education institutions and workshops for its employees to encourage brainstorming to find solutions and knowledge to achieve competitive advantage.
