This study aimed at revealing the degree of the skills of the students in eighth grade basic for social participation and leadership in AL-Tayba and Wasateya Educational Directorate. To achieve this purpose, the descriptive method was applied and two scales were designed, one for social participation, and the other for leadership. The reliability and validity for both scales were ensured. The study sample consisted of (297) male and female students of the academic year (2014- 2015). The study findings showed that the degree of skills for social participation was medium with (3- 23); there were statistical difference at the level (a=0.05) due to sex variable in social participation and in favor of males; the degree of skills for leadership was high with (3.70); there were statistical differences at the level (a=0.05) due to sex in favor of female students. The study concluded with a set of recommendations: 1) The importance of activating students’ roles in social participation by school administrations. 2) Providing teachers with the teacher’s books that include the concepts of social participation and leadership.
