The research aims to know the level of the critical thinking skills among the social studies teachers in the basic education stage. The study is based on a sample of (204) male and female teachers specialized in geography and history forming (46.15%) of the community size. They have been chosen randomly. In order to achieve the research aims, the California test of critical thinking skills model (2000) was used after verification of its psychometric properties. The research results showed that the sampled teachers own a level of critical thinking skills that is below the educationally acceptable level set by the researcher which was limited by (80%). The research results did not find statistically significant differences in the level of critical thinking skills due to the variables of gender and specialization. (Published Abstract)
