This study aimed to examine the degree of effectiveness of management control in colleges of applied sciences in the Sultanate of Oman. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of 42 items and distributed to 4 dimensions (regulation and administrative leadership, connection and communication, administrative methods and tools, the obstacles of management control). After confirming the indication of Sincerity and persistence, it was distributed to the study sample that was estimated 101 male and female employees including directors of departments and their deputies and heads of departments and staff in the six collages of applied sciences in Oman. After processing the data statistically by using the statistical package SPSS. The study found a range of results and the most important was the degree of the effectiveness of management control in the collages of applied sciences in Sultanate of Oman that came moderately or medium in the four dimensions. Also there were no indication a=0.05 for the averages and the standard deviations for the estimates of sample dimensions of effective administrative control in colleges of applied sciences in Sultanate of Oman due to the gender variable, experience and academic qualification for the four fields. With regards to the obstacle, that limit the effectiveness of the administrative control in the colleges of Applied Sciences in Oman, It has been shown that the estimates of sample varying in terms of presence with a high and medium degree and regarding the most prominent mechanisms for the development of administrative control as seen by members of the sample, the mechanism which pertains “Increasing the number of meetings between officials”. The study had found a set of recommendations; the most notably were the need for the employment of modern technologies in administrative control over the performance of staff, material and moral incentives for staff commensurate with the work of achievements and increase the number of meetings between officials and their staff with the aim of introducing the concept of management control and its philosophy, tools and methods.
