مواجهة الوالدين للضغوط الناتجة عن وجود طفل معاق عقليا فى ضوء بعض المتغيرات الديموجرافية

This study is considered one of the descriptive studies which aim at detecting the different methods that are used to face the possible pressures resulting from having a disabled child. The importance of the study emerges from innovating programs that would improve and support the coping methods of the disabled child’s parents. The study focuses on sample of 200 of the disabled children’s parents whose children study at Cairo intellectual schools and their ages are between (6-12) (childhood phase) where the methods of parent’s facing pressures are applied (by the researcher) within the measure of the developed social economic and intellectual level on the Egyptian family (dr. Muhammad Bayomy Khalil, 2000). The results of the study are as follows: 1) There are significant differences in the dimensions of requesting the social support and the emotional catharsis on the scale of parents facing pressure methods for the benefit of mothers. 2) There is no statistically difference between the arithmetic scores of mothers and fathers in the light of the social level according to the scales of facing-pressure methods. 3) There is no statistically difference between the arithmetic scores of mothers and fathers in the light of the cultural level according to the scales of facing-pressure methods. 4) There are significant differences partially of the planning for solving problems, reactivating the positive evaluation, self – assertion and the religious dimension on the seale of parents’ fauing pressure methods for the benefit of mother.
