This study aimed to reveal the impact of practicing leadership competencies on improving the quality of work life from the point of view of male and female employees of public education schools in the Education Office in South Taif. To achieve the goal of the study, the descriptive approach was used, and the study population consisted of (4176) male and female employees of general education schools - boys and girls - in the Education Office in South Taif. The questionnaire was the tool for the study that was distributed to the study sample of 352.The study concluded with a set of results, which are: The reality of the practice of male and female principals in public education schools for the leadership competencies represented by the competencies (humane, technical, personal, and administrative) was at a high degree, and came in first place after (personal leadership competencies) and in last place after (humane leadership competencies. The level of quality of work life in general education schools, represented by the following dimensions (participation in decision-making, professional development, physical and moral working conditions, and job stability) came in a moderate degree, and came in first place after (job stability) and in last place after (material and moral work conditions).The results also showed that there is a very strong, statistically significant, direct correlation between general education school principals’ practice of leadership competencies and the level of quality of work life. There are no statistically significant differences between the averages of the study sample’s responses to the questionnaire due to the variables (gender, nature of current work, type of school) on the questionnaire and all its axes and dimensions. It was found that there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the study sample’s responses on the first axis as a whole (leadership competencies), the second dimension (technical leadership competencies), and the fourth dimension (administrative leadership competencies) due to the academic qualification variable, and on the second axis as a whole (Quality of work life) and its dimensions: the first (participation in decision-making), the second (professional development), and the fourth (job stability) are attributed to the academic qualification variable, and the difference was in favor of (diploma). It was found that there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the study sample’s responses on the second axis (quality of work life) and on its first dimensions (participation in decision-making), the third (material and moral working conditions), and the fourth (job stability). For the variable of the school, he/she is affiliated with, the difference was in favor of (private school). The study recommended training school principals on the mechanism of dealing with archived data in decision-making and giving workshops to school principals on how to use technology in holding various seminars and conferences.
