The current study aimed to identify the degree of self-compassion among university students, and to identify the differences between males and females in the degrees of self-compassion, as well as to identify the differences between disciplines (human, scientific, and health) and the degrees of self-compassion. The study was implemented in May during the second semester of the academic year 2021-2022, and the study sample consisted of (400) male and female students from King Saud University in Riyadh, and the number of males was (104), while the number of females was (296). Method: The study used the simple random method in selecting the sample, and the research was applied using the descriptive correlational method. Results: The results of the study found that there were statistically significant differences in the dimension (mental alertness and excessive autism) between male and female students in favor of females, but there were no statistically significant differences between male and female students in the degree of self-compassion as a whole and its three dimensions (judging on the Self, common humanity, and solitude). There were also statistically significant differences in the degrees of the two dimensions (self-compassion and mental alertness) attributed to the specialization variable (human, scientific, and health) in favor of students of the (health) specialization, and there were no statistically significant differences in the degree of self-compassion as a whole and in the dimension (Common human self-judgment, isolation, and excessive autism) attributed to the specialization variable.
