The sample consisted of(n=150) students (75 females and 75 males) aged 17 to 22, from two public institutions and from all academic streams in Fez’s city. The Bar-On scale of emotional intelligence and the Rosenberg scale of self-esteem were used. To answer the questions of this study, the t-test, one way ANOVA, and the Pearson Correlation Coefficient were used. The findings showed that there were no statistical differences in emotional intelligence attributed to sex or study specialization, there were no statistically significant differences in self-esteem between females and males, and that there showed a significant and positive correlation between emotional intelligence and self-esteem.
