The study aimed at identifying the relationship between the cognitive pattern (rigidity - flexibility) and psychological alienation among psychological guidance students using Facebook Al-Aqsa University, to detect the cognitive pattern (rigidity - flexibility) that is common to them, and to reveal the level of psychological alienation among psychological guidance students using Facebook. The sampling consisted of (190) male and female psychological guidance students who used Facebook. The researcher used the descriptive and analytical approach, and to achieve the research objectives, the researcher used the following tools: the cognitive style of (rigidity - flexibility) scale which was prepared by (Mason, 2011), and the psychological alienation scale, prepared by the researcher. The results of the research found that the flexible method was the dominant method among psychological guidance students using Facebook, and that the arithmetic mean of the total degree of psychological alienation reached (55.2), and the most motivated for using Facebook among the sampling was communicating with relatives, which scored (21.8%). The Pearson correlation coefficient between the rigid cognitive style and psychological alienation was equal to (0.550), while the Pearson correlation coefficient between the flexible cognitive style and psychological alienation came at (-0.698).
