The current study aimed at identifying the differences between gifted students with learning disabilities and attention deficit hyperactivity disorders of the intermediate stage students in Kuwait in some cognitive and emotional characteristics (Self-concept, Thinking Styles, Academic Procrastination, Academic Locus of Control, Over excitabilities Types). The study sample consisted of (89) of gifted students: (28) with learning disabilities, (26) with attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, (35) normal gifted students without (LD) or (ADHD). The study tools include: successive matrices Test by Raven, The ability for Creative Thinking test (Mamdouh Alkenany, 2018), Battery of the diagnostic standards appreciation for Mathematics Disabilities (Fathy Alzayat, 2007), ADHD Symptoms Rating Scale (ADHD-SRS), (Translated: Fahd Alrakdan, 2013), self-concept, Academic procrastination, Academic locus of control, Thinking styles scales (All prepared by the Researcher), Over excitabilities Scale (Thamer Almoteiry, 2011). The current study results revealed that: There are significant differences between gifted students with learning disabilities and normal gifted in the dimensions of self-concept, Academic procrastination, Academic locus of control, Thinking styles scale, over excitabilities types except emotional (OE). There are significant differences between gifted students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD) and normal gifted in the dimensions of self-concept, Academic procrastination, Academic locus of control, thinking styles, over excitabilities except emotional (OE), psychomotor (OE), and imaginational (OE). There are significant differences between gifted students with learning disabilities and gifted students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD) in the dimensions of self-concept, academic procrastination, academic locus of control, over excitabilities types, thinking styles (Analytical, Doing, Emotional) except innovating thinking.
