ممارسات القيادة الاستراتيجية في كليات المجتمع الحكومية والخاصة بمحافظة حجة ودورها في تنمية المجتمع المحلي



The study aims to: 1) identify the degree of strategic leadership practices at the governmental and private community colleges in Hajjah Governorate. 2) identify the level of achieved development of the local community in Hajjah Governorate at the social and economic dimensions. 3) determine the nature and direction of the relationship between strategic leadership practices and the level of achieved development of the local community. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method in its two types: survey and correlation. Important results: 1) the level of practicing all dimensions of strategic leadership was medium, while the level of achieving local community development was medium, but close to the weak degree. 2) there is a direct correlation between the practice of strategic leadership and local community development. 3) there are statistically significant differences in the practice of the strategic leadership dimensions due to the variable of “nature of work”, and the differences were in favor of administrators, and there were no differences due to the variables of (type of college, gender, educational level, and years of service in the college). It was also found that there are statistically significant differences in the level of achieving the development of the local community due to the variable of “years of service”, and the differences were in favor of the category (11 years and over), and there were no differences due to the rest of the research variables. Important recommendations of this study is as following: 1) Community colleges must have clear and specific strategic perceptions and directions, based on a careful analysis of the internal and external environment. 2) They should also increase interest in the participation with the local community in determining and developing strategic directions, and contributing to setting their goals and strategic plans. 3) Community colleges should work to activate the exercise of the function of community service and development to a greater degree than the current situation.
