This scientific article aimed to show the extent to which the competencies of emotional understanding are reflected at the level of creative thinking of the child. In this field research participated a group of 102 children (62 girls, 40 boys) from Sale-Morocco; which their age ranged from 6 to 11 years. The study used two tests: the Creative Thinking Test (TCT) and the (TEC) for children. The analysis of the results based on the SPSS program revealed that the competencies of understanding emotions are a driving force for the development of creative thinking in children. The emotion puts children in a mental state that prepare them for creative thinking, which means that there is an interaction between cognitive and emotional factors. Likewise, there are differences in the level of creative thinking and in the level of emotional understanding competencies between the three age groups of children, that is, between the ages of 6-7, 8-9 and 10-11, as confirmed by the value of the "T.Student" test, which was significant at α = 0,01. These results are consistent with the conclusions of studies that examined the relationships between the emotional variable and the child's creative thinking. (Published abstract)
