هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة درجة امتلاك طالبات الصف التاسع الأساسي لعمليات العلم في مادة العلوم الحياتية من وجهة نظرهم؛ ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي، حيث تم جمع البيانات من خلال اختبار عمليات العلم، والمكون من (20) فقرة، تم التحقق من خصائصه السيكومترية. وتكون مجتمع الدراسة من جميع طالبات الصف التاسع الأساسي الملتحقات في المدارس الحكومية التابعة لمديرية التربية والتعليم للواء ماركا للعام الدراسي 2018-2019. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (100) طالبة من مدرسة القادسية الثانوية للبنات. وأظهرت النتائج أن درجة امتلاك طالبات الصف التاسع الأساسي لعمليات العلم متدنية، حيث بلغت النسبة المئوية للمتوسط (45.44%)، كما أظهرت أن درجة امتلاك طالبات الصف التاسع الأساسي لعمليات العلم لكل عملية على حدة جاءت متوسطة لكل من العمليات الأربع الأولى، وهي: (الملاحظة، والقياس، والاستنتاج، والتصنيف)، في حين تبين أن درجة امتلاك طالبات الصف التاسع الأساسي لعمليات العلم الأخرى على حدة جاءت متدنية كما في عمليات (التنبؤ، وتفسير البيانات، وضبط المتغيرات، والتجريب). وفي ضوء نتائج الدراسة أوصت الباحثة إثراء مناهج العلوم بالأنشطة العلمية ذات الصبغة العملية المحفزة على الاستقصاء والبحث والاكتشاف، الأمر الذي يتيح للطلبة فرصة ممارسة مهارات عمليات العلم، وبناء قدرات معلمي العلوم من خلال برامج تدريبية على آليات تنمية مهارات عمليات العلم لدى الطلبة، والعمل على تطويرها. This study aimed to know the degree to which ninth-grade female students possess science processes in the life sciences subject from their point of view; to achieve the goal aim of the study, the descriptive survey method was used, where data were collected through the science processes test, which consisted of (20) items, where its psychometric properties were verified. The study community consisted of all ninth-grade female students enrolled in the public schools in Marka directorate of Education in the academic year 2018/2019. The sample of the study consisted of (100) female students selected from Al-Qadisiyah Secondary School for Girls. The results showed that the degree to which the ninth-grade students possessed the basic science operations was low, with the average percentage (45.44%). Also, the results showed that the degree to which ninth-grade students possessed basic science operations for each operation separately was average for each of the first four operations (Observation, measurement, conclusion, and classification), whereas it was found that the degree to which the ninth-grade students own the other science processes separately was low, as in the processes (forecasting, data interpretation, controlling variables, and experimentation). In light of the results of the study, the researcher recommended enriching science curricula with the scientific activities of a practical nature that stimulates investigation, research and discovery, which provides students with the opportunity to practice science operations skills and building the capacities of science teachers through training programs on mechanisms that develop science operations skills among students.
