يناقش البحث مواقف شريحة عريضة من التربويين وأعضاء هيئة التدريس السعوديين حيال التطورات المهمة التي شهدها المجال التربوي مؤخرا وذلك من خلال ما نشر من مقالات صحفية. أظهرت الدراسة إن جميع الآراء اتفقت على الترحيب بإنشاء جامعه الملك عبد الله للعلوم والتقنية كأول جامعه بحثيه في المنطقة كما عبر عدد من التربويين عن استيائهم من أداء وهيكلية وزارة التعليم العالي. وأما أغلب الآراء فقد أجمعت على أهميه القيام بعمليه إعادة هيكلة شامله للعملية التربوية لغرض جعلها تركز على النوع بدلا من تركيزها الحالي على الكم. This paper looks at the attitudes of a wide range of Saudi educators and college professors towards the key developments that the field of education has witnessed recently in Saudi Arabia. All Saudi educators surveyed here indicated that the educational process has gained some considerable achievements in this country such as the establishment of King Abdullah University, the first research-oriented higher education institution in the region. On the other hand, many Saudi college professors expressed several points of criticism towards the structure and functionality of the ministry of education and the ministry of higher education. The most revealed opinion focused on the need to reengineer the educational process to make it more quality-oriented instead of quantity-oriented as is the case presently. (Published abstract)
