هدفت الدراسة التعرف على الدور الذي لعبته الصحافة الإلكترونية في تحديد أشكال المشاركة السياسية من أشكال تقليدية وغير تقليدية للشباب، في ضوء نظريتي الاعتماد على وسائل الإعلام والمجال العام. أهم النتائج التي تم التوصل إليها: 1) 66.4% من أجمالي المتصفحين من الشباب الجامعي يزيد معدل اعتمادهم على الصحف الإلكترونية وقت الأزمات ووقوع الأحداث. 2) أكثر الأسباب التي تؤدي للاقتناع بوجهات النظر التي تقدم بوسائل الإعلام والصحافة الإلكترونية (هي قوة الحجج والأدلة والاستشهادات) التي تقدمها وسائل الإعلام والصحف الإلكترونية) بنسبة 48.6%. 3) أكثر طرق المشاركة على مواقع الصحافة الإلكترونية للمبحوثين (هي التعليق على الموضوع)، (استطلاعات الرأي عن الأحداث الجارية)، (مشاركة الخبر أو الصورة على الفيس بوك أو مواقع أخرى اجتماعية) بنسبة ١٥.٥%. Identify the role played by online journalism in determining the forms of political participation of nontraditional and traditional forms for youth and in light mass media dependency theory and the public sphere theory, and the main results of the study that 66.4% of the total browsers for electronic newspapers from youth increase their dependency on electronic newspapers during crises and events, and the most causes that lead to the conviction of views that present on the media and online journalism (is strong evidence and arguments and citations) provided by Media and electronic newspapers by 48.6%. Also, the most ways to participate on sites of online journalism is (comment on the subject, polls about current events, share news or photo on Facebook or other social sites) by 15.5%.
