انطلقت الدراسة من أهمية الدور المتزايد لعملية التنقيب في البيانات التعليمية في صنع القرار المستنير بالبيانات، والقصور الواضح في صنع القرار المستنير بالبيانات لمؤسسات التعليم العالي؛ ومن ثم فقد هدفت الدراسة إلى وضع تصور مقترح لدور عملية التنقيب في البيانات التعليمية لصنع القرار المستنير في مؤسسات التعليم العالي في مصر. واستخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي. وانتهت الدراسة إلى وضع تصور مقترح لدور تنقيب البيانات في التعليم العالي في صنع القرار المستنير بالبيانات في التعليم العالي في مصر، انطلق من: إمكانية اتخاذ أفضل القرارات وتوفر الإمكانات اللازمة للتنبؤ بالسلوك المستقبلي وتقليص دورة اتخاذ القرار وكون البيانات النفط الجديد وإنشاء ذاكرة بيانات متجددة للكلية. وأحتوى عدة نقاط يجب تحقيقها، منها: تصدر سباق البيانات، وتشكيل فريق من منقبو البيانات، وما لا يُدرك كله لا يُترك جله، والبدء ولو بخطوات صغيرة، والحاجة إلى إنشاء مستودع بيانات رقمي. وتناول خطوات عملية التنقيب لصنع القرار المستنير بالبيانات المتضمنة: فهم طبيعة العمل أو المشكلة المراد دراستها وجمع البيانات وتكاملها ومعالجتها المسبقة وتنظيفها وتحويل البيانات واستنباطها وتقييم النمط وتفسيره وتطبيقه. The study started from the importance of the increasing role of the educational data mining process for data-informed decision-making, and the apparent shortcoming in data-informed decision-making for higher education institutions; Hence, the study aimed to develop a proposed vision for the role of the educational data mining process for informed decision-making in higher education institutions in Egypt. Tthe study used the descriptive approac. The study ended with developing a proposed vision for the role of data mining in higher education in data-informed decision-making in higher education in Egypt. It contained several points that must be achieved, including: the lead of the data race, the formation of a team of data miners, all of what is not realized is not left out, starting even with small steps, the need to create a digital data warehouse. He addressed the steps of the prospecting process for informed decision-making with the included data: understanding the nature of the work or problem to be studied, data collection and integration, pre-processing and cleaning, data transformation and deduction, and pattern evaluation, interpretation and application.
