هدفت الدراسة إلى تحديد درجة التزام معلّمي الدراسات الاجتماعيّة بأخلاقيات مهنة التعليم بمحافظة جنوب الشرقيّة، بالإضافة إلى معرفة أثر متغيّرات النوع وسنوات الخبرة. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة؛ وظفت الدراسة المنهج الوصفيّ، فأعدّ الباحثون استبانة مكوّنة من 38 عبارةً موزّعةً على ستة مجالات، هي: المعلّم ورسالة التعليم، المعلّم ومادة تخصّصه، المعلّم والأسرة، المعلّم والمجتمع، المعلّم وزملاء المهنة، المعلّم وطلابه، وبعد التأكد من صدق الأداة وثباتها تم تطبيقها على عيّنة الدراسة المكوّنة من 38 مديرًا ومديرة بمدارس التعليم ما بعد الأساسي في محافظة جنوب الشرقيّة بسلطنة عمان. وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة أنّ تقديرات مديري المدارس لمجالات الدراسة على درجة التزام معلّمي الدراسات الاجتماعيّة بأخلاقيات مهنة التعليم بمحافظة جنوب الشرقيّة بلغت 3.66 أي بدرجةٍ كبيرةٍ، كما أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروقٍ ذات دلالة إحصائيّة عند مستوى الدلالة 0.05 بين الذكور والإناث، وبين مستويات الخبرة في جميع المجالات. وقد أوصى الباحثون بضرورة تضمين مواضيع تتعلّق بأخلاقيات المهنة في الدورات والمشاغل التربويّة المقدمة لمعلمي الدراسات الاجتماعية. This study aimed to determine the degree of social studies teachers' commitment to the ethics of the teaching profession in Southeastern Governorate, and know the impact of the variables of gender and the years of experience. The study employed the descriptive methodology by developing a questionnaire consisting of 38 items distributed into six domains, namely: teacher and education mission, teacher and his subject matter, teacher and the family, teacher and society, teacher and colleagues of the profession, and teacher and his students. After verification of the tool and its validation, it was applied to a study sample consisting of 38 principals and directors of post-basic education schools in the Southeastern Governorate in Oman. The results of the study showed a large degree of social studies teachers' commitment to the ethics of the teaching profession with rate amounted to 3.66. there are no statistically significant differences at the significance level of 0.05 can be attributed to the variables of gender and the years of experience. Study recommended the necessity of including the topics related to professional ethics into the educational courses and workshops that introduced to the social studies teachers. (Published abstract)
