هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن درجة تضمين متطلبات الوعي الوقائي الصحي بالجائحات الفيروسية في مقررات العلوم في التعليم العام بالمملكة العربية السعودية. وبغية تحقيق ذلك، تم إعداد قائمة أولية بمتطلبات الوقاية الصحية من الجائحات الفيروسية واللازم تضمينها في مقررات العلوم بالتعليم العام، وبعد التأكد من صدقها وثباتها، تم إخراج القائمة بصورتها النهائية حيث تضمنت (54) متطلب أو سلوك وقائي فرعي، موزعة على (3) محاور رئيسية وهي: مجال الوقاية الشخصية (18 متطلب)، مجال وقاية الآخرين (16 متطلب)، ومجال وقاية بيئة الفرد (20 متطلب). ثم تم اعتماد المنهج الوصفي التحليلي لتحليل مقررات العلوم بالتعليم العام للعام الدراسي: (2020م) وفق المتطلبات المُستهدفة والواردة في أداة الدراسة، وقد شملت عملية التحليل مقررات علوم المرحلة الابتدائية (12 كتاب) ومقررات علوم المرحلة المتوسطة (6 كتب) ومقررات أحياء المرحلة الثانوية فقط (3 كتب) بإعتبار أن علم الفيروسات هو أحد فروع علم الأحياء الدقيقة. وأظهرت نتائج التحليل ضعف تضمين متطلبات الوعي الوقائي الصحي من الجائحات الفيروسية في مقررات العلوم المستهدفة في المجالات الثلاثة ككل، إذ بلغت نسبة تضمين المتطلبات في مقررات صفوف المرحلة الإبتدائية -من الصف (الأول) إلى (السادس)- على التوالي: (11.11%)، (14.82%)، (24.07%)، (22.22%)، (5.56%)، (11.11%)، وبلغت النسبة في مقررات صفوف المرحلة المتوسطة - من الصف (الأول) إلى (الثالث)- على التوالي: (11.11%)، (37.04%)، (0%)، وبلغت النسبة في مقررات أحياء المرحلة الثانوية - من المستوى (الأول) إلى (الثالث)- على التوالي: (0%)، (1.85%)، (0%). كما أظهرت نتائج التحليل أن معظم التضمينات الواردة في المقررات، قد أدرجت بصورة عامة وغير مخطط لها في مجال الوقاية من الجائحات الفيروسية. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة الاهتمام بتطوير مقررات العلوم في جميع المراحل لا سيما في الصفوف الأولية منها، والعمل على تضمين متطلبات الوعي الوقائي الصحي بالجائحات الفيروسية في سياق المحتوى المعرفي للموضوعات بشكل مقصود ومناسب، يفي برفع درجة الوعي الوقائي الصحي لدى المتعلمين بشكل يمكنهم من حماية أنفسهم والمحيطين بهم، مع الإستفادة من الأداة المعدة في الدراسة الحالية عند تطوير المقررات. This study aimed to reveal a degree of including the requirements of health preventive awareness of viral pandemics in science courses of public education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve this aim, a preliminary list of requirements for health protection from viral pandemics, which must be included in the science courses in public education, was prepared. After ensuring its validity and stability, the list was produced in its final form, as it included: (54) requirements or sub-preventive behavior, distributed on (3) axes. The main ones are: the field of personal protection (18 requirements), the field of protecting others (16 requirements), and the field of protecting the individual's environment (20 requirements). The descriptive analytical approach was adopted to analyze the science courses in general education, for the academic year 2020 AD, according to the targeted requirements contained in the study tool. The analysis process included: elementary science courses (12 books), middle school science courses (6 books), and biology courses only in high school (3 books), given that virology is one of the branches of microbiology. The results of the analysis showed the weakness of including the requirements of preventive health awareness from viral pandemics in the targeted science courses in the three fields as a whole, as the percentage of requirements included in the courses of the primary school courses - from the (first) to (sixth) grade -respectively were: (11.11%), (14.82%), (24.07%), (22.22%), (5.56%), (11.11%), and the percentage in the courses of middle school grades - from the (first) to (third) grade -respectively were: (11.11%), (37.04%), (0%), and the percentage in the high school biology courses - from the (first) to (third) level -respectively were: (0%), (1.85%), (0%). The results also showed that most of the inclusions were in general and unplanned to be in the field of viral pandemic prevention. This study recommended the need to pay attention to the development of science courses at all stages, especially in the primary grades. It also recommended the work to include the requirements of preventive health awareness of viral pandemics in the context of the knowledge content of the topics purposefully and appropriately, in order to raise the degree of the preventive health awareness among learners in a way that enables them to protect themselves and those around them, taking advantage of the tool prepared in the current study when developing the courses.
