تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى الكشف عن اتجاهات أعضاء هيئة التدريس وطلبة التصاميم والفنون نحو تطبيق التسريع الأكاديمي لرعاية الموهوبين فنيا بجامعة أم القرى، وعلاقتها ببعض المتغيرات. اتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي الكمي. تكون مجتمع الدراسة من 118 عضواً من أعضاء هيئة التدريس، و680 طالباً وطالبة. صممت أداة الاستبانة لجمع البيانات، تكونت من ثلاثة محاور تضم 33 عبارة. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة: وجود اتجاهات إيجابية لدى أعضاء هيئة التدريس نحو تطبيق التسريع الأكاديمي لرعاية الموهوبين فنياً بجامعة أم القرى. أيضاً أسفرت نتائج الدراسة عن وجود اتجاهات إيجابية لدى الطلبة نحو تطبيق التسريع الأكاديمي لرعاية الموهوبين فنياً بجامعة أم القرى، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين استجابات الطلبة تعزى لمتغير النوع الاجتماعي لصالح الطالبات، وفروق دالة إحصائياً بين استجابات الطلبة تعزى لمتغير نوع التخصص لصالح التخصص العلمي، والتخصص النظري. كما أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً بين اتجاهات مجتمع الدراسة نحو تطبيق التسريع الأكاديمي تعزى لأعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلبة لصالح الطلبة. وأوصت الدراسة بعدد من التوصيات أهمها: تطبيق برنامج التسريع الأكاديمي كأسلوب رعاية لموهوبي التصاميم والفنون؛ وتأهيل الكادر الأكاديمي لتطبيق استراتيجيات التسريع الأكاديمي بالمرحلة الجامعية. The current study aims to explore the attitudes of faculty members and students of Design and Arts towards the implementation of the academic acceleration for artistically gifted students at Umm Al-Qura University, and its relationship to some variables. The study used the descriptive analytical method. Population of the study consisted of 118 faculties and 680 students. A 33-item questionnaire covering 3 axes was applied. Results of the study revealed that the faculty and students’ attitudes toward implementing acceleration were positive. In addition, the study found that the students’ attitudes toward implementing acceleration were positive. The study, also found statistically significant differences among students’ responses due to the variable (gender) in favor of female students, and statistically significant differences between students’ responses attributed to the variable (type of specialization) in favor of scientific specialization, and theoretical specialization. Results of the study also showed that there are statistically significant differences between the attitudes of the study community towards the application of academic acceleration attributable to faculty members and students in the favor of students. Several recommendations are emphasized: the importance of applying the academic acceleration program as a method of nurturing artistically gifted and talents at Um-Al-Qurah University; and the importance of qualifying the academic staff to implement academic acceleration strategies at the undergraduate levels.
