هدفت الدراسة إلى تحديد مدى توافر الكفايات المهنية لمعلمات الرياضيات في المرحلة الابتدائية في ضوء المعايير العالمية (NCTM) من وجهة نظر رؤساء أقسامهن، إضافة إلى الكشف عن أثر بعض المتغيرات كالعمر والخبرة والمؤهل العلمي والمناطق التعليمية التي تتبع لها. أجريت الدراسة على (47) رئيس قسم الرياضيات قمن بتقييم (315) معلمة رياضيات تحت إشرافهن في المرحلة الابتدائية من كافة المناطق التعليمية في دولة الكويت في العام الدراسي 2017-2018م. أظهرت النتائج انخفاض مستوى تقييم الكفايات المهنية لدى معلمات الرياضيات بالمرحلة الابتدائية في جميع المجالات التخطيط والتنفيذ والتقويم من وجهة نظر رؤساء أقسامهن، وأن المعلمات ذوات الخبرة (6-11) عام كن الأعلى في مستوى الكفايات المهنية خاصة في مجالي التنفيذ والتقويم. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة الاهتمام بتمكين معلمات الرياضيات من الكفايات المهنية من خلال عقد دورات تدريبية لهن أثناء الخدمة، وبإعادة النظر في برامج إعداد معلم الرياضيات في كلية التربية الأساسية وكلية التربية، جامعة الكويت، وضرورة تضمينها مقررات طرق وأساليب تدريس الرياضيات وتقويمها بما يتوافق مع المعايير العالمية لتعليم الرياضيات (NCTM). This study aimed to identify the professional competencies of mathematics teachers in primary level in the light of international standards (NCTM), and to determine the availability of these competencies to achieve the objectives of teaching mathematics. In addition, the study examined the effect of some variables on the responses of mathematics teachers such as age, experience, academic qualification and educational govern orates. The study was applied to a random sample of (47) head teaches assessed (315) mathematics teachers in the primary level of all educational govern orates in Kuwait in the academic year 2017-2018. The results indicated a low level of professional competencies of mathematics teachers in the primary level in all areas of planning, implementation and evaluation. The experienced teachers (6-11 years) were the highest in the level of professional competencies, especially in the fields of implementation and evaluation. The study recommended the need to pay attention to the empowerment of mathematics teachers from the professional competencies by holding training courses for them during service, and reconsidering the programs of preparing mathematics teacher in Basic Education College, and Education Faculty in Kuwait University, and the need to include methods and methods of teaching mathematics courses and evaluation in accordance with the international standards of mathematics (NCTM).
