The university book enjoys high attention in various Arab universities and is considered one of the most important pillars of the quality of the educational process. However, the Iraqi scientific book in the colleges of basic education is still absent except with a very weak appearance that summarizes the research problem in "the direction of some Iraqi teachers from the holders of the Bachelor’s and Master’s qualifications and a limited number of PhD holders to prepare books to teach a certain course in basic education colleges and decide it on its students without Taking into account any approved principles of the university book". The research aims to present and analyze the phenomenon and determine its causes and risks and provide solutions and recommendations to turn it into a positive phenomenon that enjoys support and care with the aim of publishing the Iraqi book among Iraqi and Arab university students. The researcher relied on collecting information on conducting interviews with all parties related to the process as well as analyzing and evaluating the available number of targeted books and the results showed that there is a good effort in preparing these books and that there was a noticeable weakness for the Iraqi book in the field of basic education specialties in terms of depth of scientific material and lack of compliance The university curriculum standards as well as the weakness of the style in some books and the quality of printing. The researcher attributes these problems to the absence of a party within Iraqi public or private universities, nor within the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research that evaluates and arbitrates the book in accordance with approved standards before allowing it to be printed and published. From here, the researcher extracts the seriousness of the phenomenon on the future of the Iraqi scientific book in the field of specialization in basic education colleges and the extent of its scientific and moral impact on the university student. The researcher seeks to draw attention to this issue and to recommend the establishment of a body that sets standards and mechanisms for preparing the university book within the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and raising its level and encouraging its publication in book fairs in Arab countries.
