هدف البحث الحالي إلى أهمية التدخل المبكر وضرورة دمج أطفال الروضة الذاتويين. وأهمية دمجهم في صفوف التعليم العام بشكل تام والوقوف على أن الدمج الشامل يعد من أهم متطلبات إعداد أطفال الروضة الذاتويين. وأن الدمج هو مفهوم اجتماعي أخلاقي وذلك لعدم عزلتهم عن المجتمع. وتشجيع المدارس العادية التي تتبنى برنامج الدمج الشامل لأطفال الروضة الذاتويين. سلط البحث الحالي الضوء على ما يمثله الدمج الشامل لأطفال الروضة الذاتويين من أهمية كبيرة في مجال تقديم الخدمات التعليمية المقدمة لهم. وبأنها تزود المهتمين بمعلومات عن مدى تقدم أطفال الروضة الذاتويين وما يحتاجونه من تحسين وتطوير وزيادة في الخدمات بحيث تتناسب مع واقع قدراتهم الخاصة، وذلك لزيادة الاهتمام الدولي في الآونة الأخيرة بدمج أطفال الروضة الذاتويين وتحقيق مطالبهم من خلال الجهات والمؤسسات المعنية. وتكمن أهمية الدراسة في أنها تأتي كاستجابة للتطورات والمستجدات المتلاحقة في عالمنا اليوم، ولهذا فهي تحاول تقديم نبذة عن أهمية الدمج الشامل لأطفال الروضة الذاتويين بالمدارس العادية مع أقرانهم العاديين. كما أنهم لهم احتياجات خاصة تتطلب طرق تعليم مميزة لا يستطيع أن يوفرها إلا المختصين في مجال الذاتوية. ومعرفة سمات وخصائص طفل الروضة الذاتوي فقد يبدي الطفل حساسيات إزاء المثيرات الحسة (مثل أصوات معينة، أو أضواء معينة) ومن دون مراعاة لمثله لهذه الخصائص ستكون عملية الدمج الشامل صعبة جداً على كل من المعلم والطفل الذاتوي، كما أنها ستكون غير مجدية. وتوصلت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن نظام الدمج الشامل يساعد أطفال الروضة الذاتويين على تعلم مهارات تكيف جديدة من خلال مهارات التقليد لزملائهم العاديين. كما يوفر لأطفال الروضة الذاتويين خبرات حياة حقيقية تساعدهم على التفاعل مع أقرانهم العاديين وتعلم مهارات اجتماعية وتواصلية جديدة. ويوفر التكاليف الاقتصادية بعدم فتح مراكز للتربية الخاصة، والمحافظة على مصادر الطفولة المبكرة. كما يساعد على المحافظة على مصادر التربية الطبيعية والاستمرار بها دون مراكز التربية الخاصة. ويساعد على تبادل الخبرات بين أولياء أمور الأطفال العاديين وغير العاديين.
