هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى التعرف على المعايير المهنية لمعلمي التربية الخاصة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وإمكانية الإفادة منها بسلطنة عمان. واتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي، كما استخدمت تحليل الوثائق في جمع البيانات والمعلومات. وتوصلت نتائج الدراسة إلى وجود اهتمام بوضع معايير مهنية متخصصة لمعلمي التربية الخاصة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية من خلال أقسام ومجالس التعليم والترخيص في الولايات، ومجلس الأطفال الاستثنائيين، ومجلس كبار مسؤولي المدارس الحكومية، وهيئة معايير التدريس المهني، والمجلس الوطني لاعتماد إعداد المعلمين، كما بينت النتائج وجود معايير عامة للمعلمين في سلطنة عمان في نظام تطوير الأداء المدرسي، بينما لا توجد معايير متخصصة لمعلمي التربية الخاصة. The present study aimed to identify the Professional standards for special education teachers in the United States of America and the possibility to benefit from them in the Sultanate of Oman. The study used the descriptive method, and the analysis of documents was used in collecting data and information. The results of the study concluded that there is interest in developing specialized professional standards for special education teachers in the United States of America through the departments and boards of education and licensing in the states, Council for Exceptional Children, Council of Chief State School officers, professional teaching standards commission, and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education. As shown in the results there are general standards for teachers in the Sultanate of Oman in the school performance development system, while there are no specialized standards for special education teachers.
