هدفت هذه الدراسة الكشف عن درجات المساندة الإجتماعية والتوافق النفسي لدى الأطفال، ومعرفة الفروق الدالة في هذين المتغيرين وأبعادهما التي تعزى للنوع الاجتماعي والعمر. كما هدفت فهم العلاقة بين المساندة والتوافق وقدرة المساندة وبعديها على التنبؤ بالتوافق وأبعاده. بلغ عدد أفراد العينة 198 طفلاً وطفلة في العمر من 9-10 و11-12 تم اختيارهم من المدارس الأساسية في تربية عمان الثانية، وتم التأكد من صدق الأداة وثباتها، وبعد استخراج المتوسطات الحسابية وتحليل التباين الثنائي ومعامل الارتباط ومعامل الانحدار، توصلت الدراسة إلى النتائج الآتية: 1) كانت درجات المساندة الإجتماعية والتوافق النفسي مرتفعة. 2) لم توجد فروق دالة إحصائياً في المساندة الاجتماعية تعزى للنوع أو العمر، بينما وجدت فروق دالة تعزى لتفاعل النوع مع العمر. 3) لم توجد فروق دالة تعزى للنوع في التوافق النفسي، بينما وجدت فروق دالة تعزى للعمر باتجاه الأكبر سنا 11-12 ولتفاعل النوع مع العمر. 4) وجدت علاقة ارتباطية إيجابية بين المساندة الإجتماعية وبعديها والتوافق النفسي وأبعاده. 5) تنبأت المساندة الإجتماعية بالتوافق النفسي لدى الأطفال. The purpose of this study is to explore the level of social support and its relation to psychological adjustment and to determine differences that can be attributed to gender and age as of social support and psychological adjustment among the children. The study, also, aims to understand the relationship between these variables and the capacity of support and its dimensions to predict adjustment and its dimensions. The sample (n=198) at 9-10 and 11-12 age, were selected from the public schools of Amman’s second education. The validity and reliability of the scales were ensured. Using means, (T) test, two way analysis, correlation and regression, results showed that: 1) The level of social support and psychological adjustment proved high. 2) There were no statistical significant differences due to gender and age, but there were significant differences due to interaction between gender and age. 3) There were no statistical significant differences due to gender in psychological adjustment, but there were significant differences due to age favoring age 11-12. 4) There was a statistically significant positive relationship between social support and psychological adjustment. 5) Social support has an important role in predicting psychological adjustment.
