هدفت الدراسة الحالية للتعرف على أثر توجهات الأهداف كمتغير وسيط في العلاقة بين أنماط التنشئة الوالدية والعجز المتعلم لدى عينة مكونة من 645 طالباً وطالبة من طلبة الصف العاشر بسلطنة عمان، تم اختيارهم بالطريقة العشوائية العنقودية، ولتحقيق أغراض الدراسة تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي، وتطبيق ثلاث أدوات هي مقياس أنماط التنشئة الوالدية، ومقياس توجهات الأهداف، ومقياس العجز المتعلم. أظهرت نتائج تحليل المسار (Path AnaIysis) أن لتوجهات الأهداف دوراً وسيطاً في العلاقة بين أنماط التنشئة الوالدية وأبعاد العجز المتعلم، كالتأثير غير المباشر في الاتجاه الموجب للنمط المتسلط والمتساهل للأب على بعد توقع الفشل مروراً بتوجهات الإتقان - إحجام، وتأثير النمط المتسلط للأب على بعد انخفاض القدرة على التحكم بالأحداث مروراً بتوجهات إتقان- إحجام، وتأثير النمط المتساهل للأم على بعد توقع الفشل عبر توجهات الأداء- إقدام، والتأثير السالب من النمط الحازم للأم على بعد توقع الفشل مروراً بتوجهات الأداء- إقدام. وأوصى الباحثان بتنفيذ برامج تدريبية للأخصائيين الاجتماعيين والنفسيين والمعلمين عن متغيرات الدراسة وانعكاساتها الدراسية والنفسية والاجتماعية على الطلبة، وتقديم برامج إرشادية لأولياء الأمور عن أنماط التنشئة الوالدية ومساهمتها في خفض أو زيادة حالة العجز المتعلم، وتأثيرها على تبني توجهات الأهداف لدى الأولاد. The study examines the role of goal orientations; as a mediating variable, in determining the association between parenting styles and learned helplessness. The sample included 645 10th grade students from Sultanate of Oman. The adolescents completed measures regarding their perception of parenting styles, goal orientations, and learned helplessness. Path analysis showed that the goal orientations mediated the relations between perception of parenting styles and learned helplessness dimensions (Expecting failure, reduced ability to control events). Specifically, the father permissive and authoritarian styles were found to be positively associated with the first dimensions of learned helplessness (Expecting failure) by pointing students' mastery-avoidance goals. Moreover, the authoritarian father was associated with the fourth dimension of learned helplessness (reduced ability to control events) due to its association with mastery-avoidance, and the mother permissive style was associated with the first dimensions of learned helplessness (Expecting failure) due to its association with performance-avoidance goals. The mother authoritative style was found to be negatively associated with the first dimensions of learned helplessness (Expecting failure) by pointing students' performance-avoidance goals. The researchers recommended the implementation of training programs for social workers, psychologists and teachers on the variables of study and their scholastic, psychological and social impact on students, and provide guidance programs for parents on the patterns of positive parenting and their contribution to reducing or increasing the state of learned helplessness.
