سعت الدراسة إلى التعرف على مستوى وعي طلبة الصف الثالث الثانوي في وادي حضرموت بقضايا الكوارث، وقد قام الباحثان ببناء قائمة بقضايا الكوارث التي ينبغي أن يعيها طلبة الصف الثالث الثانوي بوادي حضرموت بالرجوع إلى الأدبيات السابقة. ومن ثم تم التأكد من صدقها عن طريق عرضها على مجموعة من المحكمين وتعديلها في ضوء ملاحظاتهم ومقترحاتهم. وتم بناء مقياس لمستوى وعي الطلبة في ضوء قائمة قضايا الكوارث التي ينبغي أن يعيها طلبة الصف الثالث الثانوي شمل مجالات الكوارث الثلاثة وهي الكوارث (الطبيعية، البشرية، المندمجة) وقد تم التأكد من صدقه وثباته، حيث أصبح في صورته النهائية يتكون من (44) فقرة. ومن ثم تم تطبيقه على عينة مقدارها (277) من طلبة الصف الثالث بمدارس وادي وصحراء حضرموت الثانوية. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أن مستوى وعي الطلبة بقضايا الكوارث بلغ (3.90) وهي نسبة مرتفعة. وللإجابة عن السؤال الثالث المتعلق بفروق وعي الطلبة بقضايا الكوارث فأنه قام الباحثان بحساب المتوسطات الحسابية والانحرافات المعيارية والاختبار التائي (T-Test) لمتغيرات الدراسة. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن هناك توجد فروقاً ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستوى وعي الطلبة بقضايا الكوارث لدى أفراد العينة تعزى لمتغير الجنس لصالح الطالبات. وعليه فقد أوصت الدراسة بعدد من التوصيات أهمها الاهتمام بالتوعية بمخاطر الكوارث وعمل وحدة خاصة تتناول قضايا الكوارث بمجالاتها الثلاثة في مرحلة التعليم الثانوي. The study aims to identify the level of awareness of the third year secondary school students in Hadhramout Valley towards disaster issues. In order to answer the first question, the researchers referred to the previous literature and developed a list of disaster issues that the third year secondary school students in Hadhramout Valley should be aware of. The validity of the list was checked and confirmed by a panel of experts whose comments and suggestions were considered in the final version of the instrument. a scale was developed to measure the level of students' awareness in light of the list of disaster issues that the third year secondary school students should be aware of. It included the three disaster fields, namely (natural, human, and integrated). The validity and reliability of the scale were checked, and it became in its final form consisting of (44) items. After that, it was applied to a sample of (277) students of the third year secondary school students in Hadhramout valley. The study found that the level of students' awareness of disaster issues was (3.90), which is a high percentage. The study concluded that there are statistically significant differences in the level of students' awareness of disaster issues among the sample members due to the gender variable in favor of the female students. Therefore, the study recommended a number of recommendations, among which is raising awareness of disaster risks and the need for establishing a unit to deal with disaster issues in its three fields in secondary education to raise the level of students' awareness more than it is.
