تزداد أهمية القراءة فى المجتمعات بزيادة تعقدها، فكلما تعقدت الثقافة وزادت المخترعات والمبتكرات، تزداد أهمية القارئ، وأمام هذا الانفجار المعرفي والازدياد الكبير في أعداد الكتب التى تطبع كل عام، أصبحت القراءة بالغة الأهمية وأصبح الاكتفاء بالقراءة المجردة للكلمات والتدريب على النطق الجيد لا يحقق الفائدة المرجوة من القراءة بل لا بد من الاهتمام بعمليات التحليل والاستنتاج والتساؤل والتأمل أثناء القراءة، وهنا تكمن أهمية القراءة التأملية. والقراءة التأملية لا تجعلنا نتأني فقط، ولكنها أيضاً تساعدنا علي معرفة ما هو المهم، وأيضاً تساعدنا علي حب النصوص والمحتويات التي نعرفها من خلالها، فالقراءة التأملية يمكنها أن تنمي فينا تبجيل الكلمات، الأشياء وبعضنا البعض، كما أنها تقدم لنا مزيدا من الحياة ومزيداً من الناس الذين لا يمكن مقابلتهم فى الحياة الواقعية ومزيداً من الرؤى النافذة للحب والقدر والمحن، أكثر مما يحتمل أن تلاقيهم في حياتك. ونظراً لأهمية مهارات القراءة التأملية -ولما كان استخدام النظريات الحديثة في التعلم يساعد في تنمية هذه المهارات، كان لا بد من البحث عن أحد هذه النظريات الملائمة لهذا الغرض، والتي منها نظرية الذكاء الناجح. تعد نظرية الذكاء الناجح من النظريات الحديثة في التعليم، والتي أظهرت دورها الفعال في العملية التعليمية، وقد عرفت هذه النظرية على نطاق واسع في العقود الثلاثة الأخيرة، من خلال جهود الدكتور روبرت ستيرنبرغ، الذي لاحظ أن بعض الطلبة يستفيدون من التعليم المدرسي، في حين أن هناك البعض الآخر لا يستفيد بالطريقة نفسها، مما جعل المعلمون والمربون أمام تحد كبير للوصول إلى هؤلاء الطلبة. The research aims to develop contemplative reading skills of students of the secondary one level using a program based on the theory of successful intelligence This necessitates theoretical study of those literary, researches and studies related to the subject of this research. The second chapter of this research deals with such issues with the purpose of reaching the philosophical bases of the research. The third chapter of this research demonstrates tools and procedures of the research which include: Prepare a list of the contemplative reading skills appropriate for the secondary one student. Prepare a program based on the theory of successful intelligence to develop the contemplative reading skills of the secondary one student. Prepare a test to measure the contemplative reading skills of the secondary one student. Choose a group of the secondary one student as the research sample. Conduct the contemplative reading test before teaching the program. Then, after teaching subjects of the program to the research sample in light of the theory of successful intelligence, the test will be conducted. A number of results were reached after the statistical treatment of the marks of the pro and post-tests. The fourth chapter deals with and discusses such results. (Published abstract)
