هدفت الدراسة التعرف إلى مستوى المعنى في الحياة لدى طلبة الصف العاشر المتفوقين دراسياً في مدارس المرحلة الثانوية في محافظة ريف دمشق. وتكونت عينة الدراسة من 280 طالباً وطالبة، منهم (110) ذكور و(170) إناث، وقد سحبت بطريقة قصدية من الطلبة المتفوقين دراسياً. استخدم مقياس المعنى في الحياة (Edward, 2007)، وتمت ترجمة المقياس والحصول على مؤشرات حول صدقه وثباته. وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج، من بينها أن مستوى المعنى في الحياة بين طلبة الصف العاشر المتفوقين دراسياً مرتفع جداً. وبينت النتائج عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستوى المعنى في الحياة لدى عينة الدراسة تعزى إلى متغير نسبة التفوق في التحصيل الدراسي. ومن النتائج أيضاً وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً في مستوى المعنى في الحياة لدى عينة الدراسة تعزى إلى متغير النوع الاجتماعي لصالح الإناث. أما بالنسبة إلى مستوى المعنى في الحياة حسب متغير مستوى تعليم الوالدين فقد بينت النتائج وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً في مستوى المعنى في الحياة لصالح المستوى التعليمي للأمهات ممن لديهن مؤهل تعليمي ثانوي أو جامعي، وعدم وجود فروق في مستوى المعنى في الحياة حسب متغير المستوى التعليمي للأب. The survey under consideration aims to identify the meaning of life scale amongst the tenth grade excellent students (the secondary education) in the schools of Rif Dimashq Governorate. The study’s sample consists of 280 male and female students, precisely 110 are males and 170 are females. The researcher uses The Meaning of Life Scale (Edwards, 2007), translates it and checks both its validity and reliability. This paper reaches a number of conclusions. First of all, the meaning of life scale among the ten students who excelled in their studies is elevated. Second, while there are, statistically, no significant discrepancies in this scale ascribed to the degree of excellence in the educational achievement, proportionate with the gender factor, there is, amongst the representative sample, a large difference in the scale in favor of females. As for the meaning of life scale in light of parents’ educational level, the research displays the following results: On the one hand, there are, according to the statistics, significant variations in the meaning of life scale on account of the mothers’ educational level in favor of those having a high school or university diploma. On the other hand, there are no differences attributed to the father’s educational level in the scale mentioned above. (Published Abstract)
