This study aimed to discover the errors of written English sentence of Iraqi EFL university students in the dept. of English/College of Basic Education, University of Babylon to scout the origins of the errors. It shed the light fundamentally on sentences level on the grounds that the researcher dealt with those errors in Iraqi EFL students’ sentence structure which can cause a misunderstand by the readers of these sentences. 25 Iraqi EFL third stage students were requested to write a short essay of no more than 150 words about their hobbies. Depending on the outcomes , the most as often as possible submitted errors were capitalization, punctuation, fragments, subject-verb agreement, word order and tense. Interlingual errors, intralingual errors were the basic reasons of the errors. (Published abstract)
