The research aims to identify the role played by book fairs in the development of library collections in the central libraries of universities, as well as to identify the types of exhibitions, their objectives, their importance and the time periods set for them. The researcher used the documentary approach to complete the theoretical aspect and used the descriptive approach to complete the practical aspect of the research. The data were collected by a set of questions and directed to the secretary general of the central library of the University of Technology. Which will be held by the central library of the university and its types, and the periods specified for its establishment and the role of these exhibitions in the development of the library collections during the period (2010-2013), and the size of financial allocations and budget allocated. The research has reached a conclusion, which is double the budget allocated for the purchase of books. Participation in exhibitions was free of charge. There were a number of publishing houses, and the recommendations recommended increasing the budget allocated for the purchase of sources from exhibitions. Dedication of some published materials.
