The study aimed to classify the errors of the Tenth grade students in reciting the Holy Quran in the schools of Naour District. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach (in its both analytical and survey aspects) was used. Also, an observation card was designed in the light of the qualitative provisions prescribed in Islamic education books for the elementary stages as a tool to collect data about the study sample. The researcher of this study chose (150) students randomly as a sample. The results of the study sample revealed that the students’ errors in reciting the Holy Quran varied in the degree of popularity (frequency) from (high, medium, and low). The errors were classified in two main categories (Linguistics and judicious judgments). Linguistic errors varied in this study between morphological, phonetic and grammatical ones. The average of errors committed by the study sample was medium. According to the errors frequency, linguistic errors came firstly by the average of (1.90) and judicious judgment came secondly by the average of (1.86). Also, this study showed that errors committed by both gender (female, male) and both types of schools (public, private) were significantly similar (no statistically significant differences) at the level of significance (a=0.05) in the errors of the tenth grade students. The study recommended firstly to allocate a classroom for the recitation session prepared with audio and video equipment which will help the specialized teacher in the provisions of intonation and the rules of the Arabic in improving the level of proficiency and in reducing errors. Secondly, it suggested to conduct a relational study that shows the relationship between the linguistic errors in reciting the Holy Quran and the rules of the Ottoman painting. (Published abstract)
