تهدف الدراسة إلى وضع خطة لتنقية و استبعاد المصادر التي لا تسد احتياجات المستفيدين في مكتبة المركزية، بعد التعرف على واقع المواد الثقافية فيها و تحديد المعوقات التي تواجه هذه العملية وسبل معالجتها و تكوين لجنة ذات كفاءة وخبرة موضوعية لتساهم في هذه العملية وليكون لها أثر فعال في عملية الاختيار من خلال تقويم المجموعة بشكل دوري وفعال باستعمال المنهج المسحي حيث تم اختيار الكتب عينة الدراسة (كتابين) من كل قسم رئيسي من تصنيف ديوي العشري ثم فحصها من ناحية عدد و تواريخ إعارتها وسنوات نشرها مع وصولها إلى المكتبة وأرقام تواريخ تسجيلها لتدقيقها مع السجلات وأرقام طلبها لتدقيقها مع بطاقات الفهرس العام وفهرس الرف من خلال الملاحظة والمقابلة والمعايشة الميدانية. أما أهم النتائج فالمكتبة تفتقر إلى سياستي تنمية المجموعة وتنقيتها واستبعادها مع أماكن لحفظها ولا توجد دراسة لتقويم المجموعة. أما أهم التوصيات هو إعداد سياسة لاختيار وتنمية المجموعة مع النظر في الخطة المقترحة وتشكيل لجنة لاختيار المجموعة وتكون نفسها في تنقيتها واستبعادها والاستفادة من تطبيق الخطة على مجموعة المكتبة الأخرى من الكتب (كالدوريات والرسائل الجامعية و الأقراص .. الخ). وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أهم النتائج التالية: 1) ضيق مخازن المكتبة لضيق مساحة المكتبة. 2) عدم وجود سياسة مكتوبة لعملية التنقية والاستبعاد ومن التوصيات، تشكيل لجنة من المكتبة لسحب الكتب واستبعادها وتنقية المخازن منها وفق المعايير والشروط التي جاءت في الدراسة. The study aims to develop a plan for purification and to exclude sources that do not meet the needs of beneficiaries in the Central Library, after the identification of the reality of cultural materials in which and to identify constraints faced by this process and ways to address them and the composition of the committee with qualified and experienced an objective to contribute to this process and to have effective impact in the selection process through the group calendar on a regular basis and effective use of the survey method was chosen as the books sample of the study (two books) of each section a major Dewey Decimal Classification and then examined in terms of the number and dates of loan and years of publication with access to library and figures registration dates for the audit with the records and the numbers of its request for audit with the general index cards and an index of the shelf during the interview and observation and mentoring in the field. The most important results the library lacks my policy development group and purification and exclusion with the preservation of places there is no study to evaluate the group. The most important recommendations is to develop a policy for the selection and development group with the consideration of the proposed plan and the formation of a committee to choose the group and be the same in the purification and exclusion and benefit from the implementation of the plan on a library other guy books (periodical and thesis and disks .. etc). The study reached the following important conclusions: 1) Small stores, the library to a narrow area of the library. 2) There is no written policy for the process of purification and exclusion the most important recommendations are: The formation of a committee of library books withdrawn and exclusion and purification stores them according to the criteria and conditions that came in the study.
