يعدّ الاتصال من أهم الوظائف اللغوية التي يتم عبرها نقل المعلومات والخبرات، وعامل مهمّ للتفاعل والتواصل بين الأفراد في مختلف المجالات الأسرية والمدرسية والمهنية والاجتماعية. إن الإعاقة السمعية عند الأطفال، هي إعاقة للتواصل بينهم وبين أفراد المجتمع. إلا أن المشكلة تكون أكثر خطورة عند الاتصال بين الطفل الأصم وأفراد أسرته، خصوصاً أمه، لكون هذه العلاقة أساسية وضرورية في نقل العواطف والأحاسيس والمشاعر والأفكار والمعلومات. وقد اعتمدت الباحثة في جمع معطيات البحث على استبيان اتصال الأمهات بأطفالهن الصم البكم وقد أمكن استخلاص مجموعة من النتائج تتمثل فيما يلي: 1) تختلف صعوبات وانشغالات الأمهات اللواتي لهن أطفال معاقين "صم وبكم"، حيث تؤثر عدة عوامل في تحديد طبيعة الاتصال، مثل المستوى التعليمي للأم، عدد الأبناء، ومدى وعي وعناية الأم بطفلها المعاق. 2) اختلاف قدرات الاتصال حسب خطورة الإعاقة عند الأطفال الصم والبكم، ومدى تمكنهم من أدوات التواصل، كلغة الإشارات، ولغة الشفاه. 3) إمكانية رفع فعالية الاتصال بين الأم وطفلها من خلال توعية الأم وتدريبها على الطرق السليمة للاتصال. Communication is an important factor in the interaction and communication between individuals in the family, schools, work places and society in general. Hearing loss in children is an obstruction of communication between them and members of the community. However, the problem is serious when it comes to communication between the child "Deaf Mute" and his family, especially his mother, as this relationship is essential and necessary in the transfer of emotions, sensations, feelings, ideas and information. A questionnaire was developed and used for data collection, practices of communication between mothers and their children "Deaf Mute". A set of results were concluded from this research: 1) Difficulties of mothers with children "deaf and dumb" is the result of several factors such as level of education of the mother, the number of children, and the extent of awareness and interests of the mother in helping her child. 2) Difficulties of mothers differ depending on the severity of deafness of children and the means of communications acquired by them. 3) The possibility of increasing the efficiency of communication between mother and child "Deaf and Dumb" can be acquired through the awareness, training of mothers and the use of appropriate methods of communication with children with special needs.
