The research aims at: evaluating the level of student achievement in the College of Basic Education the teaching methods of history. Identify the relationship between the level of students` achievement of College of Basic Education in the teaching methods of history and their stimulation toward specialization. In order to achieve the second goal, a researchers put the following null hypothesis: There is a statistically significant relationship at the level of (0.05) among the students of College of Basic Education and their attitude toward specialization, in order to achieve the research`s goals and hypothesis, the researchers depended the descriptive approach as a way and its suitable procedures to study it, the research`s population consists of the third grade students, Department of History at College of Basic Education / University of Al-Mustansiriya / morning study for the academic year 2014 - 2015 who have completed their study of the methods of teaching history, about (120 ) students. The research sample consists of (60) students, whom being selected randomly from the research population which is 120 students, which represents 50% from the total population. Researchers were prepared a test taken for the multiple choice test, characterized with honesty, consistency and comprehensiveness, includes 40 items, whereas the testing stability was (0.79); in order to achieve the second goal, the researchers depended on Zaki Scale (1974) after verifying its reliability and authenticity, with some changes to harmonies with the nature of the current research. The researchers used a number of a statistical methods in analyzing and interpreting of results, the research shows the following results: Weakness of third-grade students` achievements level at the Department of History in the history teaching methods and their stimulation to the specialization. The third grade students in the Department of History, College of basic Education/ University of Al-Mustansiriya have a positive trends toward specialization. (Published abstract)
