The study draws its importance from addressed self-learning skills, which represents a necessary requirement in the knowledge explosion era, and hopes researchers benefit the results of this study to identify the self-learning skills that are included in the book of the living first grade secondary Qassim region, and the extent of activation teachers parameters to those skills, as well as to identify the differences between the average degree of activation of biology teachers to self-learning skills that are included in the book, according to a variable number of years of teaching experience, and training courses in education. In order to achieve objectives of the study, the researcher used descriptive analytical method to determine the included self-learning skills in biology book first grade secondary (Student book, Teacher's Guide) through the analysis tool, and curriculum descriptive survey to determine the extent of activation teachers parameters to those skills using the note prepared for that card, and to determine the difference between the degree of activation of these skills, according to a variable number of years of experience, and the number of training courses in education. The results reached to ensure biology book first grade secondary to all the self-learning skills identified in the research and varying degrees included in each of the student book and teacher's guide individually, and collectively. The study also found weak activation parameters teachers first grade secondary to the skills of self-learning are included in the book Biology (Student book, Teacher's Guide combined). As well as the lack of a statistically significant difference between mean scores of teachers activation parameters for self-learning skills that are included in the book of the living and the variable according to years of experience in teaching and the number of training courses in education.
