The aim of the study is to answer is there any relationship between the attitudes of first year student of biology department and their academic in biology and their academic achievements only subjects. The study includes the first year students - biology department - morning studies at College of Education - Diyala / Al-Mustansyria university in the academic year of 1998 – 1990. The following question: the researcher has referred to many previous studies such as (Bill and Zakh Aria - 1985) and (Al-Akash, 1977) and the researcher chooses study of (Sheman 1977) community of the study which consists of ( 47) students, and he has used the measure of scientific attitudes which is arranged by Bella Zakharius, including 36 items, half of it is positive and the other negative – some of its items are changed and its validity and stability are ensured, moreover, the researcher has found out the connection between each item and the whole measure. He also depends on the marks of the students of the biology lessons to find out the students achievement. The researcher has used suitable tools for the researcher (Rollon Formula) connection formula of Pearson. The concussions of the study assert that there is a positive relationship between the scientific attitudes and the achievements in the biology lessons. The researcher has come up with many recommendations. (Published abstract)
