The study aimed to identify the impact of teaching using mind maps on the academic achievement of students at the Faculty of Education at the Najran University. To achieve this aim, quasi-experimental method was used. Besides an achievement test was used as a study instrument. The study was carried out on two groups; experimental and control after ensuring its internal validity for subjects in both groups. A pretest was implemented to ensure the achievement equivalence of both groups. After the implementation of the study, an achievement test whose validity and reliability, items’ discriminatory ability, and choices effectiveness was ascertained was carried out at the end of the semester, 2013- 2014. The study found out that the mean score of participants in the experimental group who were taught by the mind maps was higher than the mean score of those in the control group who were taught by the traditional method. Difference in mean scores was statistically significant. Therefore, the study recommended using these mind maps while teaching university courses. (Published abstract)
