The current research aimed at: Identifying the influence of (self-questioning ) strategy in the academic achievement and motivation towards learning physics material for the first grade intermediate students. And for achieving this research, the two researchers put the two following hypotheses: There is no difference of statistical significance at the significance level (0.05) between the average of the two experimental students degrees learning the curriculum through using (self-questioning) strategy and average of control group students degrees learning the same material by using the ordinary method in achievement in physics material. There is no difference of statistical significance at the significance level(0.05) between the average of the two experimental students’ degrees learning the curriculum through using( self- questioning ) strategy and average of control group students’ degrees learning the same material by using the ordinary method in motivation measure in learning physics material. The research was performed at the beginning of second academic term of the academic year 2012-2013 on a sample of first intermediate grade students from AbiTimam intermediate school for boys- Baghdad governorate- Rusafa/1, the amount of them (54) students represented two sections assigned randomly from (4 )sections, where one section was selected randomly to represent the experimental group whose number( 27) students learned according to the self-questioning and the second section represented the control group whose number( 27) students learned according to the ordinary method. And for measuring the outcome of the research sample, the two researchers have designed a subjective test of multiple choices test in light with the behavior purposes and the material content applied after the end of the experiment. And the two researchers have used the motivation measure for the physics material for measuring the motivation of the research sample of physics material. And through using (t test) of two ends for two independent samples, the zero hypotheses were tested, and the results have revealed the following: Supremacy of the experimental group learned according the self-questioning strategy on the control group learned according to the ordinary method in the test of achievement and motivation measure. From the research results, the two researchers view: The necessity of depending the self- questioning strategy in teaching physics material at the intermediate schools. Performing similar current research in another studying grades. (Published abstract)
