This paper investigated four Chinese graduate students’ perceptions of the factors contributing to or impeding their English academic learning at two North American universities. They reported that the following six major factors affect their academic learning: 1) socio-cultural factors, 2) educational factors, 3) linguistic factors, 4) cognitive factors, 5) affective factors, and 6) financial factors. Their satisfaction with and concerns about their academic learning at these two universities were also examined. (Published abstract)
