استهدفت هذه الدراسة الكشف عن أثر استخدام نموذج بيري وكيرين (Pirie and Kieren) للفهم الرياضي في الاستدلال المنطقي وخفض العبء المعرفي لدى طلاب الصف السابع الأساسي في الأردن. تشكل أفراد الدراسة من صفين من صفوف الصف السابع الأساسي في مدرسة الفاروق للبنين التابعة لمديرية التربية والتعليم لمنطقة الزرقاء الأولى في العام الدراسي 2015/2016، وبلغ عدد الطلاب (54) طالباً، قسموا عشوائياً إلى مجموعتين: تجريبية مكونة من (33) طالباً درست باستخدام نموذج بيري وكيرين للفهم الرياضي، وضابطة مكونة من (31) طالباً درست بالطريقة العادية. أعد الباحث اختبار الاستدلال المنطقي واختبار العبء المعرفي، وتم التحقق من صدقهما وثباتهما، كما أعد الباحث دليل المعلم للتدريس باستخدام نموذج بيري وكيرين. وقد أظهرت النتائج المتعلقة بالاستدلال المنطقي بشكل عام ومهاراته (الاستدلال التناسبي، والاستدلال الاحتمالي، والاستدلال الاستنباطي، وضبط المتغيرات) تفوق طلاب المجموعة التجريبية الذين درسوا باستخدام نموذج بيري وكيرين للفهم الرياضي على طلاب المجموعة الضابطة الذين درسوا بالطريقة الاعتيادية. وكان العبء المعرفي لدى الطلاب الذين درسوا باستخدام نموذج بيري وكيرين أقل مما هو لدى الطلاب الذين درسوا بالطريقة الاعتيادية. This study was conducted to identify the effect of using Pirie and Kieren mathematical understanding model on deductive reasoning and lowering cognitive load amongst K7 Jordanian students. The study sample comprised (54) K7 students from two different public schools in the Jordanian Governorate of Zarqa. Students were randomly selected and divided into two groups: the experimental group of (33) students using Pirie and Kieren Model and the control group employing the classical teaching method. The researcher developed a deductive reasoning test and a cognitive load test and ensured their reliability and validity prior to their administration. A teaching method guide illustrating how to use Pirie and Kieren model was also prepared. Findings revealed that the experimental group surpassed the control group in the overall mathematical understanding performance and deductive reasoning, including related skills; namely, proportional reasoning, probabilistic reasoning, deductive reasoning and variables' control. Results also showed that cognitive load amongst students of the experimental group was less than that of the control group. (Published abstract)
