هدفت الدراسة التعرف إلى مستوى السلوكيات غير المرغوب فيها التي يمارسها رؤساء الأقسام الأكاديمية في الجامعات الأردنية الحكومية، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (332) عضو هيئة تدريس تم اختيارهم بالطريقة العشوائية الطبقية وفق متغيري الجامعة والكلية، تم استخدام استبانة أعدها الباحثان لأغراض هذه الدراسة، وقد تم استخراج دلالات الصدق والثبات لها حيث كانت ملاءمة لأغراض الدراسة، وتم استخدام المتوسطات الحسابية والانحرافات المعيارية وتحليل التباين الثنائي والمتعدد للإجابة عن أسئلة الدراسة، وأظهرت النتائج أن مستوى السلوكيات غير المرغوب فيها التي يمارسها رؤساء الأقسام الأكاديمية في الجامعات الأردنية الحكومية في إقليم جنوب الأردن من وجهة نظر أعضاء هيئة التدريس جاء متوسطًا بشكل عام كما جاءت جميع المجالات بدرجة متوسطة كذلك وقد احتل مجال الكفاءة الإدارية المرتبة الأولى في حين جاء مجال الخصائص الشخصية بالمرتبة الأخيرة، ولم تظهر فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستوى السلوكيات غير المرغوب فيها التي يمارسها رؤساء الأقسام الأكاديمية في الجامعات الأردنية الحكومية في إقليم جنوب الأردن تعزى لمتغيري الجامعة أو الكلية أو التفاعل بينهما. The study aims at recognizing the undesirable behaviors that the heads of academic departments practice at public Jordanian universities. The sample of the study consists of (332) staff members chosen by a stratified random method according to the variables of faculty and university. A tool is prepared by the two researchers used for the purposes of the study. To answer the questions of the study, means, standard deviations, ANOVA and MANOVA are used. The results indicate that the level of undesirable behaviors practiced by the head of academic departments in public Jordanian universities in southern Jordan comes at medium level in general from the views of staff members. In addition to that, all the domains come at medium level. The administrative competence comes in the first rank, whereas the personal characteristics comes in the last rank. The results show that there are no statistically significant differences in the level of undesirable behaviors that the heads of academic departments practice in public Jordanian universities attributed to the variables of faculty and university or the interaction between them.
