The purpose of this research is to recognize the participation level of the heads of academic departments in Aljouf University for the administrative operations and functions from the point of view of teaching staff members. This research followed analytical descriptive approach and applied the questionnaire as a tool for collecting date. The study sample was a sum of 348 teaching staff members. Results showed that the participation level of the heads of academic departments in Aljouf University for the administrative operations and functions from the point of view of teaching staff members were high. It also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (a≤ 0.05) between the means of participants' responses in participating of the heads of the academic departments in Aljouf University for the administrative operations and functions regarding to the teaching staff members according to the variables of (gender, job definition, years of university experience, and nationality) for all study fields and the overall degree. And there were statistical significant differences at the level of (a≤ 0.05) between the means of participants' responses in participating of the heads of the academic departments in Aljouf University for the administrative operations and functions regarding to the teaching staff members according to the of (college and all fields of study and overall degree), to the favor of the humanity colleges. According to the results of the study, the researcher recommends to consider the study fields which was explored and studied in the current study as a basis for defining the level of practicing heads of academic departments in the universities of Saudi Arabia, and using it as a tool in assessing the performance level. He also recommends using in defining the educational needs for the heads of academic department, and to show these results to the heads of departments in order to develop their performance especially in scientific colleges.
