The study dealt with the acquisition of the number of learners of the Arabic language as a second language at the Institute of Arabic linguistics at King Saud University in Riyadh; where he faces Arabic-speaking learners to other many difficulties and problems while acquiring the number of rules; and that the complexity of the provisions and rules in the Arabic language. The study sought to achieve a number of objectives, which are: knowledge of the mistakes made by the Arab language learners as a second language when their use of the rules of number, and identify the weaknesses they have, and the statement of the differences between levels of students in the acquisition of number rules, and find out the role of the courses offered to them at the Institute of Arabic linguistics King at the University of Saud in helping them acquire the language, and to provide successful solutions to address these errors; therefore researcher followed the statistics analytic descriptive method, to achieve these goals through choosing a random sample of students of Arabic Linguistics Institute at KSU numbered (24) students, evenly divided on the second level, and the level IV, and of the master's students. the researcher took testing tool for examination to identify the individual responses, and use the following statistical methods: (duplicates, percentages , the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and correlation coefficient of Pearson), the researcher found from which to several results, including: that the total respondents errors in the acquisition of the number (614) fault. Reaching students Level II errors (316) error, and by (69.30%) and students fourth level errors (154 error) and by (33.71%), while master's students, bringing the number of mistakes (144) error, and by (31.58%); that refers to several reasons: passive transport to the rules of the mother language, linguistic, overlap, and the lack of effective application of the rules of number, and dissemination of the rules they had learned, and the difficulty of the rules of the number in Arabic, and the neglect of some students, poor practice of number rules. Researcher has recommended several scientific recommendations are: Insert the number lesson and its applications in various Arabic language as a second language in all academic levels, and establish training courses for students in the institute, and activating the role of language laboratories, and the establishment of training workshops for teachers of Arabic as a second language, and urged the students to practice number correctly, and direct correction for them.
