استهدفت هذه الدراسة الكشف عن أثر توظيف كتابة المجلات في رفع مستوى التفكير التأملي لدى طلبة كلية العلوم التربوية والآداب/الأونروا، وتأثرها بكل من متغيري الجنس والمستوى الدراسي للطالب. وقد تكون مجتمع الدراسة من جميع طلبة قسم معلم صف في كلية العلوم التربوية والآداب/الأنروا في الفصل الدراسي الثاني من العام 2015/2016 وعددهم (773)، أما عينة الدراسة فقد تم اختيارها بطريقة قصدية لتتكون من جميع الطلبة الدارسين لمساق العلوم الطبيعية ومساق أساليب تدريس الاجتماعيات وعددهم (99) طالباً وطالبة، وقد تم استخدام مقياس التفكير التأملي المكون من (16) فقرة، والمعد من قبل (2000، Kember et al.)، بعد التحقق من صدق محتواه بالتحكيم، ومن ثباته باستخدام معادلة كرونباخ ألفا، وقد تم استخدام المنهج شبه التجريبي وتصميم المجموعة الواحدة باختبار قبلي بعدي في تنفيذ الدراسة، وتم تحليل البيانات بالأساليب الاحصائية المناسبة. كشفت نتائج الدراسة من خلال مقارنة أداء طلبة مجموعة الدراسة على مقياس التفكير التأملي في القياسين القبلي والبعدي، أن هنالك فروق اً ذات دلالة احصائية عند مستوى الدلالة (=α0.05)، مما يشير الى فاعلية توظيف كتابة المجلات في رفع مستوى التفكير التأملي، كما أشارت النتائج الى عدم وجود تفاعل بين طريقة كتابة المجلات وكلا من متغيري الجنس والمستوى الدراسي بشكل عام، مما يشير الى فاعلية هذه الطريقة في رفع مستوى التفكير التأملي بشكل عام لكل من الجنسين ولجميع المستويات، كما أوصت الباحثتان بتنفيذ دراسات مشابهة لبحث أثر هذه الطريقة على متغيرات أخرى مثل التحصيل والتفكير الابداعي. This study aimed to investigate the impact of employing journal writing on raising the levels of reflective thinking among the students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Arts\ UNRWA (FESA). Moreover, and how it is affected by student’ gender and study level .This study was carried out during the second semester of the academic year 2015/2016. The population of the study consisted of all the students of the classroom teacher major in the faculty of Educational Sciences and Arts/UNRWA (FESA). On the other hand, the sample of the study was purposively selected and included all the students studying the Natural Sciences and the Methods of Teaching Social Science courses. Moreover, the total number of the sample was 99 male and female students. For the purpose of achieving the goals of the study, the scale of the reflective thinking was used. It is worth mentioning that the scale was prepared by Kember, et al (2000) and consisted of 16 items. To ensure the validity of that scale, a group of experts in the field of education were requested to determine its content validity. In addition, Cronbach's Alpha measurement was utilized to assess its reliability. Moreover, the quasi-experimental method and the one group pretest -posttest design were used in this study. Finally, SPSS software was adopted to analyze the data adequately. Comparing the performance of the students involved in this study at the pre and post scales of reflective thinking showed that there are differences of statistical significance at (0.05) level. This indicates that utilizing journal writing is effective in raising the levels of reflective thinking. Moreover, the results proved that there was no link between journal writing and the two variables, gender and the study level of the students. Finally, the researchers also recommended the implementation of similar studies to study the impact of this method on other variables such as achievement and creative thinking. (Published abstract)
