This research aims to identify how students of higher education are using the skills of historical thoughts, to achieve that goal, the researcher used the imitating think that prepared by the researcher himself , the sample included five respects, the first is chronological series which includes Ten items, the second , the perceptual and historical comprehension which includes 14 items, the third; the historical analysis and interpretation which includes 9 items, the forth, the analysis of historical issue which includes 9 items, and the fifth , the ability of historical research items which includes 11 items. The items amount reaches to 53 items. The stability of coefficient questionnaires reach to 0,77% which considers a good result and used in the way of retest with a sample including 20 higher education students, male and female in Baghdad and Al-Mustansiriya University. The researcher applied the questioners on the sample involved with 24 students from both gender(Master grade) at Al-Qadisiya, Al-Kufa, Babylon Universities in the second semester. The researcher used the T-test, the monophonic contrast analysis. The result of research proved that the higher education students(Master degree) overpass the others in historical thinking analysis. The females preceded the males in the result of historical thinking analysis. The results indicated that the students of Al Kufa university precede the other colleagues at the other Universities in the historical thinking skills . The results have been investigated according to the results that we achieved and the researcher presents many recommendations and suggestions. (Published abstract)
